DATASEEK / accessibility

Accessibility belongs in the design.

DataSeek aims for WCAG 2.2 AA. This is a design and testing goal, not a formal conformance statement.

Interface support

Semantic headings, labeled fields, keyboard controls, visible focus, a skip link and reduced-motion support. Core screens are available in Dutch, English and French; source content keeps its original language.

Small screens

Mobile filters use an expandable panel. Search state is preserved in shareable URLs. Sample tables scroll within a named region; the page itself should not overflow horizontally.

Map alternatives

Coverage is also described in text and selection lists. The map is never needed to discover a dataset and does not provide analytical results. External source websites and documents are outside DataSeek’s accessibility control.

Report barriers

Use a dataset’s problem report or the source suggestion form. Describe your device, assistive tool and the failing step. Contact details are optional. Testing with multiple screen readers and an independent formal audit remain ongoing operational work.
